vlan create error [solved]

ref: http://www.microhowto.info/howto/configure_an_ethernet_interface_as_a_vlan_trunk_on_redhat.html

problem: missing vconfig.

Device does not appear to be present

An error of the form:
Device eth0.2 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.
could indicate that:
  • the VLAN=yes setting is missing from the interface script, or
  • the specified DEVICE name does not follow one of the naming conventions supported by vconfig.

solution: yum install vconfig

done :)
